INTSENSO - Integración sensorimotora para control adaptativo mediante aprendizaje en cerebelo y centros nerviosos relacionados. Aplicación en robótica

INTSENSO sits at the intersection of Computational Neuroscience and Neurorobotics. These fields seek to understand the principles that underlie nervous-system function and neurological disorders, while developing new computational architectures, machine-learning systems, robot-control strategies, and AI applications.

The principles that allow the brain to manage highly multimodal and multidimensional information are still largely unknown. The cerebellum has traditionally been associated with motor control; however, recent studies show that it continuously communicates with other neural centres, including the cortex, basal ganglia, and inferior olive.

The project aims to deepen our understanding of how the cerebellum and related neural centres intelligently achieve sensorimotor integration through adaptive mechanisms that abstract the kinematics and dynamics of the body being controlled.
